About us \ News \ Musical Magic returns with Rhapsody Rotorua.
WorldStrides (a global leader in educational travel) is proudly announcing the return of New Zealand’s premier youth music festival, Rhapsody Rotorua, for its 21st event at the Sir Howard Morrison Centre from 24-29 June.
Rhapsody Rotorua is holding three free, public concerts, offering a unique opportunity for the community to experience an incredibly high quality of music from remarkably talented young musicians for free. Showcasing a variety of styles and songs, there is a performance to suit all musical tastes.
The week long festival celebrating music and talent draws hundreds of students from New Zealand and Australia to undertake masterclasses and workshops together, and have their performances adjudicated by world renowned musicians. The festival also provides a once in a lifetime experience to discover Maori culture and the most thrilling adventure activities on offer in Rotorua.
“We are delighted that our Rhapsody Rotorua Festival is returning to New Zealand this year,” says Dan Kellerd, WorldStrides’ General Manager. “Uniting students from different countries and cultures to share their passion for music creates a truly remarkable event. Students are immersed in a unique learning experience, with adjudication from top musicians aiding them to develop their skills. Performing onstage in front of the Rotorua community delivers tremendous benefits for the students, and it’s an immensely rewarding experience for everyone involved in the festival.”
Sir Howard Morrison Centre Performing Arts Director, Janelle Bish is thrilled to welcome Rhapsody Rotorua back to the Sir Howard Morrison Centre.
“It’s our privilege to host these talented young people from around the world as they come together in Rotorua to connect and collaborate, sharing their gifts with our community and enjoying all that our city, and our newly refurbished venue have to offer”, says Janelle Bish.
