From Friday 31 October to Saturday 1 November, the line-up features the chilling Nightmare at the Theatre, a family-friendly Spooky Maze, and a lively interactive screening of the cult-classic Little Shop of Horrors.

A spokesperson for the Sir Howard Morrison Centre says the 2025 line-up builds on the success of previous years with new interactive experiences for audiences of all ages.

“Fright Fest is all about creating safe but spine-tingling fun for our community. This year we’ve added new interactive experiences and surprises to make Halloween in Rotorua even more memorable.”

Nightmare at the Theatre
On 31 October and 1 November, the Centre’s corridors and hidden spaces will transform into an immersive horror attraction. Nightmare at the Theatre runs from 5pm to 11pm, with multiple sessions each evening.
Groups of visitors will embark on a 20–30 minute journey through shadowy hallways, encountering terrifying characters and suspenseful surprises enhanced by dramatic lighting and sound effects. Tickets are $30 per person.

Spooky Maze
On Saturday 1 November from 10am to 2pm, Te Haumako will become the Spooky Maze, designed for tamariki and families.
The experience includes spooky characters, a scavenger hunt with prizes, kids’ crafts, and a Halloween parade at 12pm featuring prizes for best dressed. Entry is $10 per person.

Little Shop of Horrors – Interactive Screening
On Friday 31 October at 7:30pm, audiences can enjoy a cabaret-style, interactive screening of the cult-classic musical comedy horror Little Shop of Horrors.
Each ticket includes a complimentary props kit, with guests encouraged to dress up, sing along, and immerse themselves in the film’s chaotic fun. Tickets are $35 per person.
